Privacy policy

Last updated Oct 19, 2026.

FutureOD is a free guide for pre-optometry students. We collect as little information as we can.

Tools on this site

The stats checker and cost calculator run entirely in your browser. The GPA, OAT scores and other numbers you enter are never sent to us. The stats checker remembers your last entries in your own browser so they're there next time; clearing your browser data removes them.

Email updates

If you subscribe to email updates, we collect your email address. We use it only to send FutureOD updates, such as deadline reminders, new school data and application tips. Our email service, Kit, stores your address and sends the emails on our behalf. We never sell or share your address with schools or anyone else.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect right away. You can also email us to have your address deleted.

Hosting and basic analytics

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We may use privacy-friendly analytics that count page visits without tracking you across other sites.

Advertising and affiliate links

FutureOD doesn't show ads today. If we add advertising or affiliate links in the future, we'll label them clearly and update this policy before they go live, including any cookies they use.

Children

FutureOD is meant for college students and other adults preparing for optometry school, and isn't directed to children under 13.
